My wacky crazy quilt bag

After watching 2 craftsy courses, crazy quilting and bag making, I decided to combine the two and make myself a quirky bag.

The reason I did it was because my favourite bag shop, accesorize stopped making the bags I loved, full of embroidery and beads, and I hate boring bags so I though “why don’t I just make one”. I searched through craftsy to find some inspiration and found the crazy quilting course, which I highly recommend crafty course

I’m already planning my next bag 😊

A tough start to the new year

I haven’t been blogging as much as I’d like over the last two weeks due to a close family member suddenly passing away and my focus understandably being elsewhere.

I have done a little sewing in that time, to focus my mind, I’ve started crazy quilting and bag making at the same time, multitasking.
Basically it all started because I loved the bags Monsoon and accesorize used to sell with all the embroidery and beads and thing, but they stopped selling them and have gone for a more formal, boring line of handbags. So I decided to make my own funky handbags. This is the front panel so far:

I have received a very generous donation of scrap materials from my good friend Gemma (my increadable sewing guru) so I can make a wacky scrappy quilt.

I have also decided to join the sewing vintage pledge 2015 vintage sewing pledge 2015 . As I have already decided to make all my own clothing this year and as I have many vintage patterns (I have a problem) this would be a great opportunity for me to gain more sewing skills, so I will let you know my first vintage make of 2015 shortly.
